Sweet or Spicy Socks Class
Learn Top Down Socks on DPNs or Magic Loop
Quick and fun to knit and a pleasure to wear, few knit projects bring us the joy of socks. Students need only be able to confidently cast on, knit and purl while listening and talking in order to learn these cuff down socks, all other stitches and skills will be covered in class, including chart reading, slip 1, k2tog, p2tog, ssk, yo, picking up stitches and toe grafting. Looking for something less spicy? Students may opt to omit the lace chart and knit a simply sweet stockinette version Pattern is provided. One adult sized sock will be completed in class over three 2 hour sessions with some home work. Please bring:
One 100g skein of sock yarn – wound.
Working the spicy version (lace) – select something lightly variegated, tonal or solid.
Working the sweet version (stockinette) – sky is the limit – chose whatever dye style you wish (self-striping, variegated, tonal, solid, whatever you like)
A set of DPNs or one 32-40” circular needle in US Size 2 (2.75mm) or size to obtain gauge of 8 sts/inch in stockinette in the round

Forensic Knitting
Hate ripping back your work to correct errors? This class teaches you how to “read” your knitting and how to correct errors without starting over. You will learn basic stitch anatomy, how to recognize and correct dropped stitches, yarn overs, accidental increases/decreases, twisted stitches, splits, incorrect stitches (I knit when I should have purled, I cabled left when I meant to go right) and how to start and utilize life lines through hands on intentional error creation and recovery. For the final class, you are invited to bring in troubled projects for review and guided correction. Basic knitting skills (cast on, knit, purl) are required.Please bring:
